Grandmother Gayle / Black Bear travels to Germany once a year. This year, I have the pleasure and honor of hosting her again in my old parish house in the so-called “Westliche Wälder” – also called “Die Stauden” – South of Augsburg.

Sitting Bull´s Feather

Grandmother Gayle brought a feather of Sitting Bull to one of the workshops. It was on her altar cloth. She picked it up and explained its story. I was fascinated and moved. When I had a private session with her later, I told her about my feelings, and she gave me the feather to hold. Without any reason, I started to cry. There was a remembrance. A knowing of sorts. I understood that there was a connection. That was the moment when Grandmother Gayle said, “Can you sense him? He is there. He does not come often. Now, he is there.”

And then we began to talk.

Encounters with passed souls

I had several encounters with souls that had passed away, and I could not understand what had happened. Grandmother Gayle was the only person I could openly talk to. She nodded and said at some point, yes, that is the way the Mongolian shamans worked on a soul level. I am very grateful to have met someone who would understand my experiences.

Let go of the emotion of rejection (in your heart)

A woman came to Grandmother Gayle and said she had suffered from headaches since she was a small girl. As did her mother. Grandmother Gayle suggested that she pick one of her oracle cards while asking whether this headache had anything to do with her ancestors. (That was the woman´s belief – her grandfather died in battle. The woman picked up one of her cards, which read: “Let go of the emotion of rejection in your heart.” She said she could not figure out what it meant to her. Everybody loved her, she said, also at work.

Grandmother Gayle just looked at her, then said, “I only know those cards turn up for a reason.” There was silence. After a while, the woman hesitantly said, “I now remember a scene from when I was a small child, when I brought my mother a present. She rejected it. I love my mother, and I knew her mother (my grandmother) had beaten her a lot, also on the head.”

“That memory of being rejected is poking at you,” Grandmother Gayle said. “Rejection can create a lot of pressure. So all the card is saying is, even when it exists, let it go, because you know that you are pure of heart.”

The room was filled with love and sadness.

Quite a few days later, the woman said she had not had any headaches since that meeting.
